About the Project

The Open Space Authority helped fund the Bill's Backyard: Bridge to Nature project, a 27,500-square foot outdoor nature education center adjacent to the existing Children's Discovery Museum. This innovative space inspires children and their families to spend time outside, exploring the wonders and joys of building, exploring, climbing, rolling, digging and getting dirty.

“For so many of our kids here in San José and cities around the country, there is a nature deficit disorder. This project enables kids to embrace nature and become better stewards of nature.”
