About the Project

The Open Space Authority contributed funds to help the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy protect and enhance an open space area in Guadalupe Gardens by defining its borders via split-rail fences, adding "Guadalupe Gardens" lettering to the fences along Hedding, Coleman and Asbury streets to create a sense of place and planting poppies along the fence to create an attractive border.

“We’re a small organization, and this is the biggest construction undertaking we’ve ever done with community members. In a lot of ways, this is a really valuable learning experience and proof that we can leverage community support and engage stakeholders in improving our parks.”
