Environmental Education for Title One Students
Guadalupe River Park Conservancy
About the Project
The Open Space Authority contributed funds to Guadalupe River Park Conservancy’s field trip program that allows for inquiry-based learning. The program is committed to getting children outdoors and uses Guadalupe River Park & Gardens' river, rose garden and orchard as an outdoor lab. The program prioritizes serving Title One students and connects them to their local environment while providing hands-on science lessons that teachers cannot deliver inside their classrooms.
"We are proud to say that during this grant term, we delivered 43 field trips to schools and reached 1,182 students. In total, we were able to provide 2,364 hours of standards-based, hands-on environmental education to these communities in thanks to the Open Space Authority."
