Outdoor Field Trips for Title One & Special Needs Groups

Guadalupe River Park Conservancy

About the Project

“This funding will support our outdoor environmental education programs to allow our youth to experience the benefits of nature and see how resilient it can be - even in the middle of a city. We are so grateful for what the Authority allows us to do.”

Jason Su , Guadalupe River Park Conservancy Executive Director

With this project, the Open Space Authority helped fund Guadalupe River Park Conservancy's standards-based outdoor education programs to students from Title I schools and special needs groups for three years. The grant funded 120 Title I field trips and 75 transportation stipends and 24 special needs field trips and transportation stipends. Open Space Authority funds also supported training staff on distance-learning and in-person instructional strategies, best practices for working with students with special needs and cultural relevancy and racial justice.
