Tai Chi and Family Yoga

San Francisco Bay Wildlife Society

About the Project

The Open Space Authority helped to fund the San Francisco Bay Wildlife Society’s Tai Chi and Family Yoga, which provided weekly and monthly programming to Bay Area families. Participants benefitted physically and mentally by experiencing a low-impact form of exercise surrounded by nature and wildlife at the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Attendees also participated in nature walks where they learned about wildlife and habitats surrounding the Bay and their importance to the ecosystem.

“Thanks so much for a wonderful Tai Chi class at the refuge. It feels so peaceful and relaxing to perform the Tai Chi movements in an open space outdoors. It’s a really good reminder to make time for ourselves to recharge our minds and bodies.”
