Projects Funded by Our Grant Programs

The Open Space Authority helped fund Veggielution’s 18-month land use planning process in partnership with the City of San José Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Services to develop a comprehensive vision for Veggielution’s six-acre community farm at Emma Prusch Farm Park.

In 2018, the Open Space Authority granted $59,250 to the City of Santa Clara's project to install a decomposed granite trail and restoe upland habitat near Saratoga Creek.

The Open Space Authority helped to fund Living Classroom’s partnership with Campbell Unified School District to implement their Environmental Literacy Initiative called "Champions for Change.”

The Open Space Authority helped fund Valley Verde’s "San Jose Family Gardening Project," which creates and maintains community and home gardens in collaboration with 140 low-income families.

This Open Space Authority grant funded the Friends of Master Gardeners of Santa Clara County's Community Education Center at Martial Cottle Park.

The Open Space Authority contributed funds towards San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory's (SFBBO) "Coyote Creek Field Station Environmental Education Program" at their research bird-banding station at Coyote Creek.

The Open Space Authority contributed funds toward the City of Morgan Hill's expansion and relocation of the Morgan Hill Community Garden to a new site.

The Open Space Authority helped fund Keep Coyote Creek Beautiful's "Coyote Meadows Park Community Planning and Concept Project," focused on a nearly 50-acre parcel of land along Coyote Creek.
